Please take a moment to appreciate your strength for taking the first step in your journey towards wellness. We can sometimes easily over look the little things but it is these subtle steps that make us extraordinary robust beings ♡
By being here you may want to reach out to someone, to share your problems or try and make sense of your expeirence of your thoughts and emotions. Talking is a simple act most of us use daily, but can often be overlooked and used as a formality without getting the chance to be able to speak about whats really going on inside. We have an instinct to put on a brave face and get on with our struggles. We may not want to share with our friends and family as a means of protecting them. We may feel that we won’t be taken seriously or judged. This continuous weight that we carry around can take its toll after a while and lead to real pain, isolation, self-harm or suicidal thoughts.
By coming to a talking therapy such as counselling, it can give you the space and time you need to communicate on that deeper level. It can help address areas of yourself that have always been in the backround or identify areas that you want to develop. Doing this in a private and safe place with a trained practitioner sets the foundations to be able to explore these areas easier.
I’m Louise, I am an Integrative Counsellor who has gained professional experience though my counselling role with Mind mental health Charity. There I have worked with people who have experienced a range of issues that life continually throws at us everyday. Anxiety, stress, depression, traumas, phobias, bullying and bereavement to name a few. With my profession aside I have gained insight into many of these in my own personal life and have learned something from every one of them.

With person centered approach being the basis of my work along with integrative adaptations where appropriate to fit individuals needs. A confidential and safe space is provided to work in a sensitively empathic and non-judgemental way, empowering you to find the answers within yourself. I have a family connection with Dementia in my past and present and it is something I hold dear to my heart. I am passionate in helping families that suffer when their loved one is going through this disheartening decline. Carer support is an area I would currently be specialising in along with the other areas mentioned also.
Being a witness to a loved one suffering with this awful illness can really take its toll on family members and carers alike. The strain it can have on our physical and mental health can be overwhelming which is where self care and compassion are a necessity.
Taking the first step towards a more contented you can sometimes feel like a selfish one therefore difficult for us to bridge that divide.
